Frequently asked questions.

Why the Name Halcyon Future?

The term 'halcyon' often evokes a sense of nostalgia, typically referencing a period that was idyllic or peak in performance, whether in personal life or within a business context. Commonly, these 'good old days' are only recognized in hindsight.

At Halcyon Future, our goal is to proactively create those perfect conditions that organizations will look back on fondly. Instead of leaving such times to chance, we strategically design and build what will become the halcyon days for your company’s future, ensuring that the best times are not behind you, but ahead.

What does it mean to be my brokerage agent?

Acting as your brokerage agent, we guide you through every step of your technology decisions. This includes engaging vendors, negotiating prices and contracts, and ensuring successful deployment. Leveraging our network of over 450 vendors and service providers, we accelerate the process to secure the best solution at the optimal price.

How does having you involved in procurement help my company?

With our broad exposure to the ecosystem and insights from numerous deals and contracts, we often secure better pricing and terms than a company can achieve directly. Our involvement also streamlines contract negotiations, cutting through the back and forth to speed up the process.

Why can’t my IT staff do this themselves?

Vendor evaluations and modernization projects can stretch your IT staff, diverting them from their essential daily duties. While your team excels at maintaining operations and supporting internal customers, navigating the vast landscape of emerging technologies requires specialized expertise. Without it, decisions may be rushed and influenced by familiarity bias. At Halcyon Future, we act as a force multiplier for your team, conducting thorough research and providing actionable insights, enabling your staff to make well-informed decisions without operational pressures.

Do you get paid by these vendors?

Yes, similar to insurance or real estate agents, we receive commissions from vendors. These commissions help keep our consulting fees lower. However, unlike other agents, our compensation is spread over the duration of your agreement, ensuring ongoing support and satisfaction with your decision.

Doesn’t that mean you are going to be influenced by your payments or commissions?

No, our extensive partnership ecosystem ensures that we are not biased towards any single solution. We offer a broad selection of technology partners and service providers, enabling a fair and comprehensive comparison to find the best fit for your needs.

Doesn’t having a brokerage agent ultimately increase my price?

No, most vendor pricing remains the same whether or not an agent is involved. We are typically compensated from marketing or channel budgets, not through a markup like resellers or VARs. This allows us to provide our services without increasing your costs from the vendor.

What if we’re interested in a partner that isn’t in your ecosystem?

We are committed to being your long-term partner across multiple projects. If you are interested in a partner outside our ecosystem, we will support the evaluation and assessment of any technology partner you bring. We apply the same unbiased rigor to all
